Additure parent company, Kingsbury, have been featured in the official publication for Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee following their efforts in additive manufacturing.
Her Majesty The Queen: The Official Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album, published by St James’s House, celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s 70-year reign as Queen of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. The publication also tracks key developments in business, technology and society more broadly during Her Majesty’s lifetime.
St James’s house gave a broad selection of individuals and businesses from across the UK a spotlight in the publication. The Kingsbury team were featured as recognition for their outstanding contributions to UK manufacturing, alongside their pivotal role in the Jubilee preparations.
In collaboration with Babcock International Group, Kingsbury reverse engineered and manufactured a replacement component for the ceremonial 13-pound guns that will salute Her Majesty during the celebrations. Over 100 years since they were first fitted, Kingsbury created a new futchel for the guns, a part of the gun’s limber frame.
Using GEFERTEC machines, Kingsbury developed a custom manufacturing solution, employing the same cutting-edge additive techniques used here at Additure.
