How does additive quality control differ from some other manufacturing techniques?

manufacturing-techniques

Key difference: With AM, you create the material at the same time as the geometry.

In manufacturing settings, like milling, turning or grinding, you have a two-stage quality control process: the material or billet passes through quality control before cutting, and the part geometry is inspected afterwards.

With our stringent QMS system, we endeavour to remove the risks associated with Metal AM.

KEY QUESTION:

Can we qualify your parts?

The short answer is no, we can’t qualify parts.

For the most part, the client and the design authority qualify parts in any given sector. Metal additive manufacturing subcontractors are generally not the ones to qualify a part.

Depending on the industry sector and end application, there will be different qualification requirements set by the customer, e.g., API20S.

Working together with Additure, we can define and implement the statement of work and control plan to meet the stringent industry requirements throughout the end-to-end manufacturing process.

This information is delivered in a concise and simple reporting structure. Contact us to speak about qualification.

Facility Accreditation

Additure’s mantra regarding quality is the ‘constant pursuit of excellence’, rather than the acceptance of the status quo.

To this end, we opted to be held against the highest standards the industry has to offer: LRQA (Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance).

This accreditation isn’t the end of the journey for us: we’re always pursuing continuous improvements. This means being one step ahead of industry-level standards and accreditations and delivering the best in class quality to our clients.
