Additure launches new metal additive manufacturing service

What is metal additive manufacturing?

Simply put – metal additive manufacturing is a manufacturing process that uses additive technologies. You can still expect the same versatile, high-strength metal parts, but now, instead of a subtractive process, we build components by depositing metal in layers.

We achieve metal AM through two leading technologies: WAAM (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) and PBF (Powder Bed Fusion).

  • Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing

WAAM uses what is essentially welding wire to create printed layers. This technology is highly reliable and can be used in a vast range of applications, including forming, cutting, joining, coating, milling and turning.

  • Powder Bed Fusion

PBF provides unparalleled freedom of design and the ability to construct geometrically complex structures. With this method, lasers melt successive layers of powder into dense metal parts. Powder Fusion is perfect for rapid prototyping, small batches and fast turnaround on final products.

Beyond the printing itself, our partnership with Solukon provides an expert depowdering service to gently and efficiently remove trapped powder. This process ensures your parts meet the stringent safety and functionality standards expected in most industries.

So, what makes Additure unique?

Our no-nonsense approach.

Our mission is to cut through the jargon and fears surrounding additive manufacturing. Industry leaders hear the same response with metal AM: massive interest, but too much concern about unknown variables and investment risk. With that in mind, we’re here to add assurance.

Additure intend to grow the market by breaking Additive Manufacturing down into simple questions which we will work through systematically. Why, how, and when.
Ian Brooks, Technical Director at Additure

We take great pride in our roles as experts and engineers – not salespeople. For industries to adopt additive manufacturing widely, the processes must be easily understood and not feared. We don’t just fill orders; we fill gaps in knowledge.

Our communication is always up-front and totally honest; if our solutions arent right for you, we’ll be the first to tell you. Additure make no effort to shy away from challenging conversations or difficult questions – we welcome them.
